Photo history of BFA's original contstruction

Ben Franklin Academy is located on Plaza Drive near the intersection of C-470 and Lucent Boulevard. On April 9, 2011, BFA held its groundbreaking ceremony, had its big “move in” day on August 29, 2011 and opened its doors for instruction at its new facility on September 6, 2011.
Currently, the facility is a two story building of about 50,050 square feet with a total of 30 classrooms, including two preschool classrooms. The building also has a science lab, gymnasium, music room, art room, kitchen, library and technology lab. BFA’s classrooms are equipped with audio enhancement capabilities for improved instruction and teachers use the whiteboards and Apple TV installed in each classroom with iPads to further engage the students.
BFA is moving through the final stages of approval for the completion of its preschool through eighth grade facility. Current building plans include 11 additional classrooms, an additional science lab for inquiry-based learning, lockers and a middle school student commons area. BFA’s completion plans also include improvements to the traffic and parking infrastructure to allow for continued improvements in student drop-off and pickup and parking for special events.
It is anticipated that the construction required to complete BFA’s facility will start on Monday, June 4, and be finished before the first day of school on Wednesday, September 5.
