National Chess Master Todd Bardwick will be offering a six-session chess class for Ben Franklin Academy starting on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
Todd is a National Master, a 5-time Denver Chess Champion and writes “The Chess Detective” column for Chess Life magazine. Todd has three books published: Teaching Chess in the 21st Century, Chess Workbook for Children, and Chess Strategy Workbook. Todd also founded the annual Rocky Mountain Chess Camp for children, one of the oldest and largest chess camps in the country. Visit Todd’s website at www.ColoradoMasterChess.com
The class will be structured teaching in the first half hour. Students will then play chess with each other the second half hour while Todd gives suggestions, answers questions, and helps them to better understand chess strategies.
The chess class will meet Tuesdays after school in the Library from 3:35-4:30 pm after school approximately twice a month (please put the dates in your calendar). Todd has chess lessons scheduled in Denver – so PLEASE be on time.
Dates are: March 6; April 3 & 17; May 1, 15 & 29 Total cost for the six-class session is $105. Make checks out to Colorado Master Chess and mail
