Grade 1 Teachers
This will be Kerrie's twelfth year of teaching and she's excited to be returning to BFA. She looks forward to another wonderful and productive year with the BFA staff, parents, and all of her new students.
Kerrie earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she double majored in Human Development and Families Studies and Psychology. Upon graduating, Kerrie moved to California to pursue a Master's Degree in Education and her teaching credentials from Pepperdine University.
Having previously lived in California, Kerrie and her husband Jesse enjoyed playing beach volleyball, swimming in the ocean, and riding their road bikes through the canyons. Now as residents of Colorado, they love being outdoors exploring the Rockies, biking, skiing, and gardening. They also have 2 young puppies, Rocky and Sierra, so they are frequent visitors of the dog parks and hiking trails. Being a Wisconsin native, Kerrie is an avid football fan and loves watching her Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers! Kerrie and her husband are thrilled to welcome their first baby at the end of September!
Tiffany teaches first grade at BFA and loves it! She thinks it is incredible to watch her students' development and growth throughout this precious year! She was a part of BFA before it opened and loves being involved from the beginning. Tiffany has dedicated her life and career to helping children succeed. She strives to be a teacher that consistently differentiates and builds on the strengths, interests, and learning styles of each student in order for them to thrive, develop a love for learning, and develop strong character.
Tiffany received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a minor in Human Services from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with an Elementary Education License from the University of Colorado.
Tiffany lives in Highlands Ranch with her fabulous husband of 21 years and her 4 precious children. Her two youngest attend BFA. They love being at school together! Tiffany enjoys doing triathlons and ½ marathons. She completed her first Spartan race and is hoping to complete her first Tough Mudder this fall. Along with swimming, biking, and running, she enjoys skiing, hiking, exploring new places, learning new things, participating in Bible study, remodeling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Tiffany and her family are thrilled to be on this journey with the BFA community.
This is Candace's 7th year of teaching. Candace received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Candace taught third grade in Clyde, Texas and later moved to Aurora, Colorado to first, second, and third grades for four years. In 1993, Candace had her first child and decided to be a stay-at-home mom.
In 2009 Candace became relicensed and started substitute teaching for some extra income. What began as a small extra income became a passion again. The kids were a breath of fresh air to her and a way to make a difference to a new generation. Candace has been substituting at Ben Franklin for three years and truly loves the students and families at BFA. She is also heavily invested in Core Knowledge curriculum, given that her own two children attended a Core Knowledge charter school. She has recently started her studies for her Master's of Education in Reading at Regis University.
Candace lives in Highlands Ranch with her husband Scott of 25 years and a cute wiener dog named Wilson. She has a son, Preston, at Colorado State University, a daughter, Monica, at Pepperdine University in California. She enjoys cooking, reading and crafting in her spare time.
Candace is very excited to be part of the BFA community and can't wait to meet her new class of first graders!
