Volunteer
Ben Franklin Academy requires all families to perform 30 approved hours (15 hours for single parents) of volunteer service for the Academy. More information can be found in the Volunteer Policy. Volunteer hours are approved by the principal and tracked online by the parent teacher organization (PTO). To volunteer, you must register on PTO Manager. From this website, you can sign up for volunteer oppurtunities and interests, and track your vounteer service.
All volunteer service must be logged within 48 hours of performing the service or such hours will be deemed unearned. It is recommended that each parent/guardian make a separate account. Your hours will be joined by Family Number. For questions, please email ptomanager@bfacademy.org.
How to Register in PTO Manager
- Log into PTO Manager.
- On right side, choose “Click Here to Register” under the question: New PTO Manager User?
- Enter your email address and a password. If you have used PTO Manager before, please enter a different password.
- If you get a red warning because you have a previous account at another Douglas County school, then click on the “confirm” button to allow your new password to be accepted.
- Enter your account information in section one. Once you save it, it will automatically direct you to Section 2.
- Section 2 is where you will select a box for each interest area that you would like to receive potential volunteer opportunity requests that arise throughout the year.
- Once you have completed this section, choose save. It will automatically open to Section 3.
- Section 3 asks about your student(s). You may choose to just add their name(s) at this time.
- Once completed, please save again. Choose the “log in” button on the lower right side.
- You will then receive a confirmation email from PTO Manager confirming your registration.
