Volunteering

If you are looking to get involved, please go to PTO Manager and to see possible opportunities or email pto@bfacademy.

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching gifts for financial donations to non-profits such as Ben Franklin Academy.  Some generous employers also offer grants to organizations to which their employees volunteer their time.  BFA volunteers have submitted and received such grants from Qwest (now Century Link), Bank of America and Farmers.

Generally, to complete such an application, you need to indicate that BFA's PTO is a chapter of the Douglas County Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation.  The Federal Tax Identification Number is 84-1165175.  We will provide verification of your volunteer hours or any other assistance you need.

If you have any questions regarding whether your employer offers any potential grants, contact your Human Resources Department or send an email to grants@bfacademy.org.

Volunteer of the Month

The PTO will be highlighting one volunteer each month who has gone above and beyond in their contributions to the school.  This volunteer will receive recognition in our school newsletter and have the privledge to park in one of our Reserved Parking spaces in the parking lot.  For May, we have chosen Halsley Hoff.  Halsley is the Fundraising Coordinator for the Parent Teacher Organization.  She has put in countless hours planning the BENefit Bash, as well as coordinating our Brick Fundraiser and all our ongoing Fundraising programs.  Halsley is a very talented woman and has been a huge part of the success of the PTO in our inaugural year. Thank you Halsley for all that you do!

When asked what she likes most about BFA, Halsley responded, "Everyday Eric and I are reminded how lucky we are to have found Ben Franklin Academy!  The timing was perfect as the inaugural year was also the 1st year of Kindergarten for our daughter Katelyn.  Each day she is excited to go to school and when I pick her up she has something new to tell me that she learned that day.  Thank you to Mrs. Klee, the specials teachers and the staff at BFA! Thank you for recognizing my efforts! I love being part of this parent community and being able to help BFA grow from the beginning. Looking forward to the many years to come."

Congratulations Halsley!
