A message from Principal Simpson…
Thank you for your continued patience as we get everything ready to start this school year. As you can imagine, there are many moving pieces and new processes that we are developing.
I thought I’d take a minute to address a couple of the most frequent questions I am seeing. First, if you requested to switch cohort days, I have been able to accommodate all of those requests. Since there were over a hundred, I can’t email everyone individually to confirm. I’m excited that we were able to accommodate all of the requests that came in.
The second question is around teacher assignments. It is our goal to have this communicated out to families by early next week.
A few students will need to come to school before school starts to complete a math assessment. (Current BFA students will be placed according to data from last school year.)
  • Students BRAND NEW to BFA in 3rd, 5th-8th grade, please sign up for a one-hour session to take our math placement test.
  • 6-8 grade students who would like to test to advance to the next math level may sign up for a testing time as well. This option is for middle school only.
NEW BFA students in K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th graders will take a math assessment in school the first few days of school and do not need to sign up for a time.
Families that have chosen full-time remote learning will be able to pick up your student’s supplies on August 19th from 8:00-12:00. Classes will begin for remote learners on August 24th.
We will send out more updates as needed. Thank you again for your support and grace during this crazy time. We are excited to get school started.
