Summer Enrichment Camp Image

Summer is almost HERE! In addition to our summer B.A.S.E. program, each year BFA teachers offer different enrichment camps throughout the summer. We have such a wide variety of camps this year, that we created a catalog of choices. There are camps for all interests and age groups.

If you want to find out more about our Lightning Bolt Summer Care Program, go to the Camps and Before/After School Programs link.  Many campers sign up for BASE Summer Camp and are able to do one of the camps below.  Please contact our Summer Camp Director for more information.

Keep checking back for more summer camps as we update this list weekly.

A Fun & Creative Summer Camp for Kids in Grades 1–8!
Step into the world of fashion and let your child’s creativity shine! In this hands-on, child-led camp, campers will explore fashion history while learning skills like basic embroidery, fabric painting, and upcycling secondhand clothing into unique, one-of-a-kind outfits. Campers will design and create full outfits, working collaboratively and supporting one another throughout the process. We encourage children to bring items like jeans or a denim jacket to transform. With a focus on sustainability, students will also learn about caring for the environment through fashion.

Each day is filled with creativity, teamwork, and great music as campers relax, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life. This positive and uplifting environment helps build confidence and self-expression. The week ends with an exciting fashion show where campers proudly present their designs to family and friends.

The camp is led by Mrs. McElroy (2nd grade teacher), who holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and has worked in the fashion industry in Milan, and Miss Richardson (5th grade teacher), who has worked with several clothing companies and creates her own upcycled and embroidered pieces.
