Before/After School Care

BFA’s Before/After School Enrichment (BASE) program serves BFA students and parents by providing a safe, enriching, convenient, and affordable school-age childcare program. Our on-site program features indoor and outdoor activities that keep your child engaged and safe while giving them plenty of time to work on their homework. A perfect fit for working parents or parents who need additional time before or after school, BFA’s Lightning Bolt BASE program provides safe alternative for school-aged childcare.

BASE is now a mandatory pre-registration system.

You are required to register one week in advance of the day(s) your student(s) need care, through your MySchoolBucks account. Families should sign up for the days needed each week by the prior Friday. Drop-in care is NO LONGER an option, There are 45 spots available each day. Once the 45 spots have been filled, you will not see a drop-down option in MySchoolBucks. You may choose from the following options: (1) Morning BASE scheduled from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. at a cost of $7 per day, per child, and/or (2) afternoon BASE scheduled from 3:50 to 6 p.m. at a flat rate of $14 per day, per child.

Note: If families do not sign up their student(s) for BASE by the deadline, they will be charged $5 per student for the first offense and $10 per student for the second offense. Charges will continue to go up by $5 per student after each offense.

Each family must pay the $25 yearly registration fee prior to registering for daily care, and must also have an Early Learning Ventures account. If you think that you may need BASE services at any time during the school year, please register now. Please email BASE at base@bfacademy.org for the registration link.

BASE uses Pikmykid app. You must have this app downloaded, installed and working prior to drop off or pick up.  Download the App through Apple App Store or Google Play

In summary, below is the 2025-26 tuition schedule:

  • Registration is through MySchoolBucks
  • Check In And Out Through PikMyKid
  • Registration Fee: $25 per family/per year
  • Before-School Care: Hours of care are from 6:45 – 7:45 a.m., at a cost of $7 per day, per child
  • After-School Care:  Hours of care are from 4:00 – 6 p.m., at a cost of $14 per day, per child
  • Late Pick-Up: After 6:01 p.m., the charge is $2 per minute, per child

The Lightning Bolt BASE program is staffed by BFA employees who have all been screened and undergone strict background checks through the State of Colorado. In addition, our program utilizes scanning technology for child check-in/check-out procedures to guarantee a safe and secure environment.

All BASE participants (both new and returning students) MUST complete an Enrollment Form in order to participate in the program. The Enrollment Form and payment (please see below for payment and cost details) must be completed prior to first day of attendance.

Summer Camp

BASE Summer Camp

BFA offers a wonderful summer camp program for students with plenty of fun summer activities and even field trips! Registration for summer camp opens in early spring–read the Principal Newsletter for all the details. Please note, summer camp attendees need to register each summer before using the program, then will need to sign up for the weeks needed. Camp registration and weekly sign-ups are available in MySchoolBucks.

Summer Camp is generally open from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camp runs most of the summer, but is normally closed the week of the July 4th holiday.

  • The initial 2026 summer camp registration of $35 per child opens February 23.
  • Weekly registrations for the 2026 Summer Camp program will open Monday, March 23, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., in MySchoolBucks.

Camp Dates/Times:

The 1st day of camp is June 1, and the last day is August 14. Closed June 29th-July 3rd for the 4th of July holiday. We are open from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

Initial Registration Fee:

Prior to registering for the weeks needed, you must first pay the initial registration fee of $35 per child. As a reminder, this registration fee includes one summer camp t-shirt and one day pack.

Weekly Registration:

After you complete the initial registration for each student, you will be able to sign up for the weeks you need. We do not offer drop-in care or partial week registrations. The cost is $300 per week, per child (Shorter weeks are will be prorated. Registration closes, for each week, two weeks in advance on Friday to allow time for field trip planning and staffing. If the week is full, you will not see it as an option in MSB. Please email our B.A.S.E. summer camp director, Leigh Savoy, to be placed on a wait list.
