    Roger Nagel

    Chair

    Roger Nagel has lived in Colorado since 2008.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. in International Business from California State University. Roger’s experience has primarily been in the For-Profit Education industry, specializing in areas of budgets, forecasts, and Key Performance Indicators. He is currently Director of Data Analytics for Arist Education Service in Littleton. He has been a member of the Finance committee since the school opened. Roger and his wife, Lori, live in Highlands Ranch with their two sons who attend BFA. He and his family enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring new areas in the mountains.

        Ryan Patterson

        Vice-Chair

        Ryan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!).  He is currently employed at Janus Capital Group working in the Financial Reporting division.  He has been a member of the Finance committee since the beginning & has witnessed BFA thrive!  Ryan & his busy family of five have chosen to plant roots here in Highlands Ranch.  His time outside the home/office is spent traveling, hiking, camping, riding motorcycles & enjoying the Rocky mountain air.  He has three children who all attend Ben Franklin Academy.

            Kevin Leverson

            Kevin received his BS in Finance from Cedarville University and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati.  He began his professional career as a Financial Specialist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, managing budgets and developing cost estimates for various aircraft acquisition programs.  He and his family moved back to Colorado in 2006 where he worked as a Program Controller for Raytheon, a Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, and finally returned to the Air Force as a Financial Analysis Manager.  He currently works for the Financial Management Center of Expertise managing a team of analysts who provide decision support for capital investments.  Kevin and his wife, Amanda, live in Highlands Ranch with their 5 children. Kevin loves the mountains and enjoys running, cycling, hiking, camping, skiing, and any sports in which his kids are involved.

                Kent Barwind

                Kent most recently served as the Director of Finance and Accounting for the Colomer Group, USA, a global leader in professional beauty markets.  At Colomer, Kent was responsible for overall finance and accounting operations and financial reporting.  Prior to joining Colomer, Kent served as a senior finance manager with the Pepsi Bottling Group where he was responsible for managing volume and revenue in a 14-state business unit.  Kent began his professional career with Procter & Gamble in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  Kent received his MBA from the University of Chicago, graduating with honors.  He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  In his spare time, Kent coaches baseball and football in the South JeffCo Sports Association.  Kent and his wife have four children and are excited to continue their active role with the BFA community.

                Kent also serves as an at-large director on the Board of Directors.

                    Andy Beginns

                    Andy Beggins has lived in Colorado since 2000. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Operations Research from the University of Texas and has worked in a number of different industries in a variety of roles. For ten years he was in the Natural Gas industry in Houston, Texas including a six year stint in which he was involved in the building of a start-up company that he and his partners later sold to Koch Industries. Since 2004 Andy has worked in the Financial Services Industry as part of a residential mortgage servicing business and is currently employed by Specialized Loan Servicing (“SLS”), located in Highlands Ranch, CO. With SLS, Andy has taken on a variety of different roles including Process Development and Improvement, building and managing the company’s Internal Audit function, building and managing the company’s Investor/Client Relations department, and various roles within the company’s Finance department. He currently is part of the Finance Department as V.P. of Strategic Analytics and manages the processes of Service Structuring and Pricing, Portfolio Forecast Modeling and Business Development Support.  Andy has been part of the BFA Finance Committee since its inception.

                        Halsley is thrilled to be part of the Ben Franklin Academy family.  She was involved with our PTO from the beginning initially serving as the Fundraising Coordinator and then as Secretary.  Halsley is a Colorado native and graduated from Fort Lewis College with a degree in Computer Science.  Prior to BFA she worked as the Clinic/Grants & Contracts Manager at the Barbara Davis Center.  She enjoys anything crafty from photography to scrapbooking, camping & hiking, and spending time with her husband and two daughters, who both attend BFA.
