Highlights of Universal Pre-K

Universal Preschool:  Ben Franklin Academy Preschool will be participating in the Universal Preschool Program (UPK) for the upcoming school term, but there are some requirements:

  • Your student must be 4-years-old by Oct. 1, 2023 to receive this funding. You cannot receive funding if your student is 5 and repeating Pre-K because, per the state, your student has aged out.
  • You MUST apply for the funding through the state’s vendor, Bridgecare, to receive the benefit.
  • There must be an available seat in our preschool for your student to be matched.
  • The amount the state will fund is based on how many hours your child attends the preschool program.
  • This program does not guarantee your child’s preschool will be completely free. Parents will have to pay the remaining balance for the academic school year if the state doesn’t fund the full tuition rate.

Universal Preschool Class Choices:

Full Day:

  • Mrs. Olson’s Busy Bees: MWF full day – 8:15-3:20 ** Class Capacity 16
  • Mrs. Olson’s Busy Bees: T/TH full day – 8:15-3:20 ** Class Capacity 16
  • Mrs. Olson’s Busy Bees: M-F full day – 8:15-3:20 ** There would have to have room in both the MWF and T/TH classrooms to be able to accommodate this option. Please note: that the curriculum is repeated on Tuesday and Thursday to accommodate those children only attending school 2 days a week.

Half Day:

  • Mrs. Eframo’s Happy Campers: M-F 12:15-3:20 p.m. (There is no morning option for half-day.)
