Thank you for your interest in Ben Franklin Academy (BFA)!
We offer over 20 tours for prospective kindergarten through eighth grade families between September and April. We recommend attending a tour as early as possible because they fill up quickly and are scheduled independently from the offer timeline.
A few things to note:
- We don’t offer tours May through August.
- To be ready to make the most informed decision, don’t wait to attend a tour. Tour spaces and dates are limited and are scheduled independently from the offer timeline. As offer deadlines are not extended, we strongly recommend parents attend a school tour before receiving an offer.
If you can’t make a tour, you can still get a great feel for our school by watching our BFA Video, which features students, teachers, and parents.
Tour Registration Guidelines
- Tickets are required for everyone. Each tour is limited to 20 people (adults and children), and every attendee must have a separate ticket.
- Limit your group size. Please limit the number of attendees from your family to four.
- Select only one tour date to attend. Our tours are popular and often reach capacity quickly. To ensure opportunities for other interested families, kindly register for a single date only.
- Modify your sign-up. If you or someone in your group can no longer attend, please email Colleen Bobbin, BFA’s Director of Admissions and Records/Registrar, by 9:00 a.m. the Friday before the tour date to free up space for other families.
-
📌 Late Cancellations & No-Shows To ensure a quality experience, our tours are strictly capped at 20 participants. If you cancel after the Friday deadline or do not attend your scheduled tour, we will prioritize other families for future tour dates.
How to Re-register: In these instances, email Colleen Bobbin 24 hours before a future tour date. If there is remaining availability, she will be happy to assist you with a last-minute registration.

Day-of-Tour Details
- Arrival: Please arrive no later than 8:50 a.m. to check in at our front office. The tour generally lasts 45-60 minutes.
- Parking: If the main lot is full, you can find plenty of spaces in the “upper” lot. Please do not park in reserved spaces or the small lot with basketball hoops.
- Check-In: Enter through the main doors (by the flagpole). The office is immediately to your right. All adult participants must present a driver’s license to be scanned into our visitor system. Any adult without a license will not be permitted on the tour.
- Note on Strollers: The tour moves between floors using stairs. Kindly leave strollers at home to help us stay on schedule.
Inclement Weather
Tours are canceled if the Douglas County School District (DCSD) announces a delayed start or school closure due to inclement weather. Please check the DCSD website, local media outlet websites, or local newscasts for closure information, as a separate email from BFA may not be possible. If a tour is canceled, you may sign up for a future tour date, space permitting.
