Emily Cozzetto - Lead Teacher
Emily Cozzetto is excited to be joining Ben Franklin Academy. She has a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Human Services along with a certificate in Conflict and Trauma Studies from Kansas State University. Emily is also a Certified Family Life Educator, provisional status, through the National Council of Family Relations. Emily is both group leader qualified and director qualified in Colorado.
Emily has a passion for partnering with parents in educating preschoolers. She enjoys learning from the children as much as she enjoys teaching them. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband and 1st grader.
Shannon Olson - Lead Teacher
Shannon is a Colorado Native and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Elementary Education. She has experience teaching first and fifth grades and ran an in-home daycare for three years while she raised her two children. For the last four years, Shannon taught at a preschool her youngest attended.
Shannon and her husband, a high school teacher and coach, have been married 14 years and have two wonderful kids, ages 10 and 7. They love family time, going to the mountains, and playing and watching sports. Shannon is so excited to be a part of BFA and the preschool program. She looks forward to meeting everyone and helping build a foundation for BFA students.
Denise is thrilled to be at Ben Franklin Academy as a Preschool Assistant. She has 15 years of experience with children that includes managing an aquatics program as well as swim instruction. Denise has been in the Preschool program for 3 years and absolutely loves the energy and honesty of preschoolers!
Denise has also worked at BFA’s Summer Camp and BASE program for the past 4 years
Denise and her husband Eric have been married for 19yrs. They have two daughters, Kayla 16, and Emma 14. Denise enjoys swimming; reading and watching her daughters play volleyball and archery.
Her favorite color is PURPLE. Any extra time their family has is spent playing with their two Italian greyhounds Parker and Lucy.
Leigh is honored to be part of the Ben Franklin Academy Preschool team. She loves working with young children because of their openness and willingness to learn. After operating a licensed home daycare for several years, Leigh went back to school to earn her Early Childhood Education Teaching Certificate. Leigh has been a member of the Pre K program for three years.
Leigh and her husband Frank have been married for 26 years and have lived many places thanks to the Military. They have three wonderful children. Her daughter Erin goes to BFA and her two sons have graduated high school. They have lived in Highlands Ranch for the last 11 years.
In her free time, Leigh likes to go camping, ride her dune buggy, play tennis and spending time outdoors. When time permits she loves a good book. Leigh also works in the wonderful BASE and Summer Camp programs. Leigh is excited to begin the school year and make a positive impact in our children’s lives.
Krista is so excited to become part of the Preschool team. She loves working with small children and watching those little light bulbs going off in their heads. She has worked in various daycare and learning facilities with young children. Preschool is one of her favorite ages because they are so excited to learn. Krista cannot wait to meet all the wonderful families that are entrusting their little ones to the BFA family.
Krista and her husband Jeremy have been married for 12 years. They have 3 children who attend BFA; Logan 6th, Cody 3rd, and Emily will be a kindie!! Together as a family they like to go on camping and hiking trips. Most of their vacations are spent in ND to visit family and friends.
