Tours for students in grades K-8
Prospective K-8 Families:
Thank you for your interest in Ben Franklin Academy (BFA). We enjoy showing prospective parents our wonderful campus so we hope you’ll be able to visit BFA. Tours are scheduled from September through April and provide a great opportunity to learn and ask questions about BFA’s culture, curriculum and community. As tours are not offered May-August, if you cannot make a tour, please click here to listen to what current and former students, teachers, parents, our Principal, and our former Board president have to say about BFA!
All tours will be limited to 20 participants (adults and children). We kindly ask that you:
- Limit the number of people from your family to five.
- Submit a separate sign up for EACH adult and child. Only those with a sign up will be able to attend the tour.
- Manage your sign-up. If you or someone in your group cannot attend, please modify your sign-up or email Colleen Bobbin to make room for other families. Participants who cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled tour or “no show” may not sign up for another tour date.
- Bring a Driver’s License. All adult participants will be scanned into our visitor system. Any adult without a license WILL NOT be permitted on the tour—this is a safety measure so there are no exceptions.
- Give yourself time to park, and check in at the front office no later than 8:50 a.m. We strive to begin our tours on time. If you are late, you may be asked to sign up for a different date.
You may park in the lower or upper lot. Please do not park in reserved spaces or the small lot with basketball hoops. Enter the main doors of the school (by the flagpole), then check in with your Driver’s License in the office immediately to your right.
DCSD Snow Day or Delayed Start – Tours will be cancelled if the Douglas County School District (DCSD) has a snow day or a delayed start. Closure/delayed start information will be available from the DCSD website, local medical outlet websites, and newscasts. Cancelled tours are not rescheduled.
These tours are specific to families interested in kindergarten through eighth grade. Direct questions about K-8 enrollment to BFA’s director of admissions and records, Colleen Bobbin. If you are curious about BFA’s preschool, please reach out to Lori Hafner, BFA’s preschool director.
